Baby poo, baby poo...all I talk about is baby poo...

By kevin - Posted on 01 November 2006

Wow - nearly two weeks since my last post and I'm following up with another story about baby poo?! There's got to be more going on with the newest member of the Haggerty family you say? Of course there is, but it's the stories about baby poo that make me laugh.

Poor Liam got himself into a state of semi-constipation I'm afraid. I'm not sure if this is his body's way of trying to regulate and get down to 2 or 3 poos a day or what but regardless, the poor guy went more than a day without letting anything go - and he was none too happy about it either! Well last night he rectified the situation, and with some gusto! Happy Halloween to me. :(

I was sitting on the couch with him and I knew there was some stirrings down below - I could hear / feel it but I thought nothing of it. Just happy (once again) that he seemed to have sorted himself out. Well eventually he started to fuss and I figured I had better change his diaper. Amy was off talking to her sister on the phone in another room at the time.

When I went to open up the sleeper - that's when it first hit me - he had a blowout! I opened up the sleeper the rest of the way to assess the damage and that's when it hit me - I definitely needed backup for this diaper change! It was like nothing I had ever seen before - there was poo everywhere! I called in Amy and between her fits of uncontrollable laughter, she managed to help me out. We got the sleeper off him and got him cleaned up enough to move him to the bath. Yep - a bath was a must after this ordeal.

After bathing him and dressing him up in a new clean sleeper - he was content once again. I for one am hoping that doesn't happen again!

In other Liam news - he's still gaining weight like a madman! On Monday he weighed in at 12 lbs 6 oz.

Kevin are you Having fun!! hahahah

I cannot explain how funny it was to watch Kevin in this life defining moment. It was a moment in time that brought our whole family together in a way that only baby poo can! My how our lives have changed :) (For the better of course!) I have asked Liam to continue to have these huge poos at night when Daddy is home and is on diaper duty. He, however, seems to want to be fair and seems to keep it about 1/2 and 1/2 for us.
