Happy New Year 2008

Happy New Year to everyone out there. I didn't make any new year resolutions this year (I rarely do) although I would like to do a better job at keeping the ole blog up to date. We'll see how that goes. I was going to try to write up a review of 2007, but since I'm feeling lazy, I decided that I'd just export our Christmas newsletter to PDF and make it downloadable from the blog. Afterall, Amy did a good job of summing up 2007 already - no sense in duplicating effort. I'll also add in the 2006 newsletter since I never did get around to making that one available. (Warning: For some reason the 2006 newsletter is 11.63 MB as a PDF! The 2007 newsletter is only just over a meg.)

As for Christmas - it was more stressful than I would have liked, but I guess that's to be expected...why should this year have been any different right? ;) I can't complain about the driving, the weather and road conditions were excellent for both the drive down and back. Liam once again didn't sleep much (if at all) which made the drives less enjoyable. I've once again vowed that I'm staying home next year - only time will tell if that'll come true. It wasn't all negative though - don't get me wrong. I was happy to get home and spend some time with my family, and especially my dad. This Christmas was definitely different, and the big reason for that was the absence of my mom. She was certainly missed.

While home, I got to check out the new Fredericton Curling Club that my dad has been so actively involved with. I wont get into the details, but essentially the curlers got screwed by the golfers at the Fredericton Golf Club (formerly Fredericton Golf and Curling Club) and were forced to find a new place to curl. My dad was instrumental in helping to secure the rink at the Exhibition grounds and getting things up and running (including helping out with the ice making). The new club is a work in progress, but things are looking pretty good. I even got a chance to throw a few rocks with my sister while my dad instructed us. I was also able to find some time to help get the internet going in the club's office - this involved running about 100 feet (or more) of cable through walls and ceilings but in the end everything is working so that should help them out.

Both Liam and I picked up a cold just prior to heading to NB which meant we weren't our normal chipper selves. Ok - I'm rarely chipper, but Liam normally is. Anyways, I think we're finally on the mend (although we both still have a cough) but now Amy has come down with something. I think she's worse off than I was cause she's spent the last three days in bed and she says she only feels marginally better. Here's hoping she's back to normal soon - I really can't handle Liam on my own for much longer. :)

Anyways, that's about it for now. Hope everyone had a good Christmas break and I REALLY hope we're done with the snow for this winter - I mean enough is enough! Good luck in 2008.

As you know, I am one of your more religious blog readers.... and it makes me sad when you don't post for months at a time!

This blogging business isn't as easy as it looks either - or maybe it is the being interesting part of the blog that is difficult!!

At any rate, looking forward to fun times in 2008 with assoicated blog posts of course:)
