Auditor General's Report

I'm loving how the Auditor General, Sheila Fraser, is really giving it to the government. My latest favourite finding is that the government is charging too much for passports - by a full $25! Apparently they issued 3 million passports last year - with a $25 profit on each, that works out to a cool $75 million! As noted by Mrs. Fraser, Government services should be run with the goal of breaking even - not gouging tax payers. What happens with that extra $75 million? As others have noted, perhaps it should be put back into the system with the goal of improving turn around times - have you ever been to a passport office? Those lineups are insane!
