Grace's Birth Certificate has arrived...ALREADY!
Wow! I ranted previously about how long it took to get a birth certificate for Liam from the time I applied online until we actually got it. This time around I'm pleased to say that I've noticed a BIG TIME improvement. Last time it took between 3 and 4 months I think; this time - under a month! I didn't do anything differently this time either. I filled everything out online again, and mailed the cheque to the city just like last time. Today, less than a month after filling out the forms online, we received Grace's birth certificate! Fantastic! Her SIN should be arriving shortly...
I'm not sure what changed, but somebody, somewhere, is actually working to improve things and that is certainly appreciated!
Believe it or not, Grant would have had something to do with the 'new' application for the Birth Certificate and SIN registration!!!
I too was amazed at how quickly things were this time around. Maya took about 10 months to get, Natasha just over 3 months and Jaida was good to go in weeks! I wonder what it would be like with #4...I guess I'll never know!
Well if OG had anything to do with the process improvement then kudos to him for sure! The bottleneck seemed to be the registration step, both at the municipal and provincial levels. Once the registration was complete, birth certificates and SIN cards followed very quickly after.
P.S. I, for one, got a kick out of your #4 comment... :)
Grace's SIN arrived in the mail yesterday so all in all a VERY positive experience this time around.
